In 1944, at age 18, during World War II, Aldo entered the United States Navy, serving as a frogman until 1946; he saw action at Okinawa with UDT-17.

During World War II (1939–45), Connors enlisted in the Army at Fort Knox, Kentucky, and spent most of the war as a tank-warfare instructor at Fort Campbell, Kentucky and later at West Point, New York

Gentlemen: we salute you and thank you for your service and sacrifice for your country. Rest in Peace.
