Quote du jour

“Sleeping on the streets is a dysfunctional act. It harms the person, it harms society, it leads to unsanitary conditions that affect public health. The first one who decided to sleep there should have been removed and then the second one, and the third one, and the fourth one and the fifth one. They can protest during the daytime if they want to, but if you want to stay over in New York City overnight, you got to rent a room, and if you’re homeless we got plenty of shelters for you.”

-Rudy Giuliani

  1. And that's not just talk. He did that as mayor

  2. Unfortunate that Bloomberg isn't half the man Rudy is. Look how the city has declined since Giuliani left office. He should run again again.

  3. You tell em Rudy ... NY misses you during times like these.

  4. SF: Yeah. He was a great mayor. Whatever else you might say about him, at least he has a spine.

Maggie: Not sure I'd wish that job on anyone! It would be good for NYC, though.

  5. I don't understand why these ragtag bums are allowed to cost the taxpayers of NY millions of dollars, harm businesses, and befoul the city.

  6. Adrienne: Politicians without a spine are afraid of being criticized, or characterized as anti "free speech". Even the owners of the private park they gathered were afraid of negative publicity.
