Cameron Diaz, Julia Roberts and Jessica Biel top list of Riskiest Searches

by the Left Coast Rebel

Today I seem to be suffering from an insufferable interweb-journo affliction. Several drastic synaptic effects include B.M.D and G.Z.M.S.D with a touch of a simple headache and November-election-anticipation.

I simply refuse to be the 12,345 blogger today to touch on the Ground Zero mosque story.

I am attempting to find blogging material far and wide via different sources - let me know what you think. I just came across this, via Yahoo Buzz/AP:

SAN FRANCISCO – If you're looking for Cameron Diaz, Julia Roberts or Jessica Biel online, look out!

The movie stars top the latest list of the most dangerous celebrities to search for online, according to new research by computer-security software maker McAfee Inc.

It's far from an Oscar, but landing atop McAfee's annual list carries a distinction all its own: It means that criminals believe those celebs are the perfect lures to sucker people into visiting malicious websites.

Clicking onto strange sites is sketchy to begin with. But many people do, and their computers get infected. Once a computer is infected, criminals can steal victims' online banking passwords, e-mail passwords, and do other kinds of nasty deeds.

Unlike the trending story at Memeorandum that cites that nearly 20% of Americans thinking that Obama is a Muslim (duh), I can relate to this story. My desktop pc has been afflicted by a nasty virus that has wormed it's way through the Windows system files and permanently made a home for itself. The computer runs slow and is oft-plagued with errors and such.

My advice for you to avoid such a scenario? Make sure you have a firewall (mine was off). Make sure that you update Windows often. Also make sure that you have a great antivirus program running at all times as well.

And oh yah - stop Googling for sexy pictures of Cameron Diaz, Julia Roberts or Jessica Biel (especially if married, guys - that's just not nice) :

Almost forgot - although leaving the door open above for implicating myself in Google-girlie queries, thus contracting an aptly-named "Trojan" I will come forth and spill the beans with you, dear reader.

The virus entered my computer through an email attachment....
