Obama: Blank Check and No Balance

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

If you liked Nancy's broken promises, you'll love what Obama will deliver!

robert108 posted an article by Randall Hoven that parallels my thoughts of late: While Obama points to the last eight years, what about the last two with the Democrats in charge of Congress?

If you like Nancy Pelosi, you'll love Barack Obama! Barack has been promising "change". Hurricane Katrina was change, but not a good change! No one disputes that Obama talks a good fight, but what would the change B O and Co actually look like?

Nancy Pelosi promised a balanced budget. She promised the "most ethical" Congress in history and she vowed to reduce the unconscionably high gas prices of $2.30 a gallon!

How has that change worked out for you, America? Spending bills originate in the House. The national debt has doubled in the last two years with Pelosi's Democrats in charge of both the House and Senate. Coincidentally, the price of gasoline doubled over the last two years. And the Democrats that tell us that it will take ten years to get oil from ANWR have been blocking the drilling of that tiny portion of wasteland at the northern fringe of ANWR for at least ten years!

Twice the national debt instead of a balanced budget. No discernible effort to reduce the price of gas. And if ethics were a heartbeat, this body would have no detectable pulse! Consider that no actions have been taken against Dollar Bill Jefferson, for example, with his $90,000 in the freezer, or Charlie Rangel with his multiple rent controlled apartments and undisclosed income. Are there any signs of lobbying reform? Housing reform? Tort reform?

Many people like the idea of divided government, having one party serve as a check and balance on the other. If Obama is elected this November, with Pelosi and Reid in charge of the House and Senate, there will be a blank check and no balance in the White House.
